Medical systems like Ayurveda and Siddha are considered alternative treatments in today’s world. Some people quickly reject such treatments while others believe in them completely. Choosing the right treatment from allopathy, Ayurveda or Siddha can be a misleading thing. In this article, we talks about the benefits of each type of treatment. We emphasizes the importance of taking all systems together rather than calling one treatment the best.
Ayurveda vs Allopathy
So what is so different between native medicines, commonly known as Ayurveda? Ayurveda is born from a different dimension and understanding of life. A fundamental part of the Ayurveda system is to understand that our bodies are just a pile of what we have gathered from this earth. The nature of the earth and the five elements that make up the earth are expressed in this gross body. If you want to keep this body in the most effective and useful way, then it is very important that whatever you do with this body, it should have relation with this earth.
It is said in Ayurveda that every root found on this earth , every leaf, bark of every tree has medicinal properties. We have learned to use only a few. We still have to learn to use the rest. Health is not something that falls on you from the sky. Health is something that originates from within you. Because the body is made from within you. The qualities come from the earth, but they develop from within you. So if you have to do any repair work, you should go to the manufacturer and not to any local mechanic. This is the basic element of Ayurveda.
In Ayurveda, we understand that if we go deep enough into the body, then this body is not a complete thing in itself. This is an ongoing process, including the earth you walk on.
If you are in a very serious situation, it is not right to go to an Ayurvedic doctor. You go to him only when you have time to recover. Allopathy has better system for emergencies.
If this relationship is not understood, then these micro-medical systems working from inside do not work. Without taking care of the whole system, trying to work on only one aspect of it is not very beneficial.
A holistic system is not just about treating the body as a whole. A holistic system means treating life as a whole, including the earth, what we eat, the air we breathe, what we drink – everything. Without taking care of all these things, the real benefits of Ayurveda cannot be seen. If Ayurveda becomes a living reality in our lives and our societies, then people can live like gods.
Ayurveda and Allopathy
When we talk of health , illness or disease, they have two basic types. A type of disease comes from outside in our body, which is an attack of external bacteria. There is a way to deal with it.
Siddha is very different from Ayurveda. I would say that it is much closer to the body’s energy system than Ayurveda. Ayurveda focuses more on diseases while Siddha focuses on health. It rejuvenates the body.
There is no doubt that allopathy is still the most effective method of dealing with infections. But most of human diseases are caused by themselves. They are produced inside the body. For such chronic diseases, allopathy therapy has not proved to be very effective. Allopathy can only handle the disease. She never eradicates the disease mainly because the symptoms are treated in it.
Symptoms of most chronic diseases are only a small part of a major problem. We just treat those small parts all the time. In fact, it has become an established method of treatment – whether you have diabetes, high blood pressure or asthma, doctors talk to you about how to handle the disease. They never talk of getting rid of him. But expression as a symptom of the disease is very small. What actually happens is at a deeper level, which cannot be cured with external medicine.
If you are in a very serious situation, it is not right to go to an Ayurvedic doctor. You go to him only when you have time to recover. Allopathy has better system for emergencies. But when your problems are mild , and you know they are emerging, Ayurvedic treatments and other systems are very effective methods of treatment.
Ayurveda and Siddhavaidya
Siddha or Siddhavaidya is practiced in Southern India, originally Tamil Nadu. This dimension of medicine was opened by Agastya Rishi. Adiyogi is said to have used it himself and Agastya brought it south. He created a very powerful mixture of things, brilliant experiments. Seeing how effective Siddha is, it seems incredible. In the Siddha medical system, saints, enlightenment and siddha practitioners were no different. Rishi-sages or saints have always known some remedies because human health has an important role in their spiritual development.
Siddha is very different from Ayurveda. I would say that it is much closer to the body’s energy system than Ayurveda.
Ayurveda focuses more on diseases while Siddha focuses on health. It rejuvenates the body. Therefore, the variety available in Siddha is not as widespread as Ayurveda because Ayurveda has its own penetration in every disease. There is no cure for every disease in Siddha. It mainly deals with strengthening the internal sources of the body and activating the body in a particular form.
Siddha is very different in the form that although herbs are also used in it, it is mainly related to the elements. It is closer to yoga science because the foundation of yoga science is in past purification or purification of its elements. It has evolved from yoga science. Since it is elemental, you work with the basic elements that make up the body. You do not try to put any other medicine in it. So it is not actually a medicine.
For this reason, the person using it has less need for studies and more internal mastery. This is also a problem today. Siddha Vaidya cannot be made without practice. Today colleges have been made for Siddha medicine, but in this way it will not be effective. ‘Siddha’ means established or certified or a person who is firmly established in himself.
